If you’re ready to dominate the competition in Volleyball Legends, raw power alone won’t cut it—precision and finesse are what separate casual players from true court royalty. And right now, no ability embodies finesse better than the Curve Spike, a top-ranked SS-Tier technique that’s become the go-to move for scoring on even the toughest defenders.

What Is the Curve Spike?

The Curve Spike is a Godly rarity ability that supercharges your next spike. When activated, it causes the ball to sharply curve mid-air, throwing off your opponent’s timing and positioning. What looks like a standard hit suddenly swerves away, turning your shot into a devastating, nearly unreturnable play.

How to Execute the Curve Spike

Mastering the Curve Spike comes down to clean timing and the right directional input. Here’s how to pull it off consistently:

1. Activation & Timing

  • Equip the Ability: Make sure the Curve Spike is slotted before you jump into a match.
  • Get a Good Set: Wait for a clean, high set from your teammate. For the best result, make contact when the ball is slightly above your head—ideally at the peak of your jump. Too early or too late will weaken the curve.
  • Jump & Spike: Perform your jump and start the spike action.

2. Add the Curve (Directional Input)

The curve occurs when you tilt your movement direction right before, or at the moment of, hitting the ball at full height.

On Pc

  • A / D – Moves your character left or right to create a strong side curve on the ball.
  • W / S – Nudges your character forward or backward for a softer, more subtle trajectory change.

On Mobile

Use the on-screen joystick or directional pad to tilt left or right as you spike.

Pro Tip: The Feint

For maximum trickery, approach the ball facing one direction—say, toward the right corner of your opponent’s court. Then, at the last second, tilt your character in the opposite direction. Your opponent will commit to your “fake,” and the ball will bend the other way for a free point.

3. The Shift Lock Technique (PC Advanced)

If you want to hit superstar-level spikes, add Shift Lock manipulation:

  1. Run toward the set while keeping your camera pointed toward a fake direction.
  2. Jump and prepare your spike.
  3. Turn Shift Lock on/off (depending on your preference) right before hitting the ball.
  4. Tilt in the opposite direction using A or D.

This separates your character’s facing direction from the ball’s actual path, making your curve almost impossible to read or block.

Why the Curve Spike Is Meta Right Now

In the current Blocking Meta—where powerful abilities like Steel Block dominate—a standard, straight spike is far too easy to shut down. The Curve Spike forces defenders to guess where the ball is going, and one wrong read gives you a free point. It’s the perfect counter to tight, aggressive blocking teams—and that’s why it’s sitting comfortably at the top of the tier lists.
