HoYoverse has officially lifted the curtain on Genshin Impact’s next major update—Version Luna III, titled Song of the Welkin Moon: Interlude — “A Nocturne of the Far North.” Often referred to as Version 6.2, this patch delivers a powerful mix of fresh characters, major story revelations, and exciting gameplay systems, including long-awaited buffs for several Mondstadt icons.

New Archon Quest: “A Nocturne of the Far North”

The main storyline pushes forward into the icy frontiers of Nod-Krai, home to the spectacular festival known as Moon-Prayer Night.

But this celebration is more than just glitter and music.

It marks the Dameselette Columbina’s final night in Teyvat before her mysterious journey to the moon. The festive mood shifts quickly with the arrival of the fabled Hexenzirkel, including Alice (Klee’s mother) and Nicole Reeyn, who warn of unstable borders and strange “phantoms” creeping into Teyvat.

  • Who Is He? The newborn dragon reborn in human form through Albedo’s alchemy.
  • Playstyle: A hybrid Sub-DPS with strong off-field support.
  • Unique Feature: Durin can switch between two combat modes—one fueled by Abyssal Power for heavy offense, the other focused on buffing allies and shredding enemy resistances.

Jahoda — New 4 Anemo Bow Healer

  • Rarity/Element/Weapon: 4★, Anemo, Bow
  • Role: A team healer who can absorb elements and deal matching damage.
  • Backstory: Works under Nefer at the Curatorium of Secrets.
    She’s shaping up to be a flexible Sub-DPS and support option.

Hexerei Characters & Powerful Gameplay Buffs

One of the most talked-about additions this patch is the new Hexerei system, giving classic characters a major power boost.

Hexerei Transformation

By completing Alice’s “Witch’s Homework” questline, certain characters can ascend into Hexerei Characters, unlocking new abilities and enhanced Constellation effects.

Hexerei-enabled characters include:

Durin, Venti, Klee, Albedo, Mona, Razor, Fischl, Sucrose

Party-Wide Hexerei Bonus

If your team includes at least two Hexerei characters, you'll activate the Hexerei: Secret Rite, granting a powerful passive buff that enhances your entire party’s combat performance.

This opens the door to entirely new team comps and revives several older units.
