Riot hasn’t held back with this update—the closed beta introduces sweeping changes, fresh content, and highly requested features that show just how seriously they’re taking 2XKO’s competitive future.

What’s New in the Closed Beta?

New Champions: The roster now features nine League of Legends icons. New arrivals include:

  • Vi – a rushdown powerhouse built for aggressive, in-your-face combos.
  • Blitzcrank – the game’s very first grappler, bringing heavy throws and punishing grabs. They join Ahri, Yasuo, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Braum, and Jinx to round out the lineup.

Gameplay Overhaul: Combat is faster and more explosive than ever. Riot increased overall damage, reset the Super Meter between rounds, and ensured the Break Meter starts at 75%—all changes designed to keep matches aggressive and high-energy.

Offline Esports Mode: Riot is doubling down on competitive play. A new offline mode includes custom rounds and timers, giving tournaments the tools they need to thrive.

Match Replays: One of the most requested features is finally here—players can now review replays, sharpen their strategies, and learn from every fight.

How to Get In on the Action

The closed beta is invite-only, but you can still sign up through the official 2XKO website for a chance at early access. If you took part in earlier Alpha Lab tests, you’re already in.

Right now, the beta is PC-exclusive, but Riot has confirmed that the full release will be cross-platform, arriving later in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The Future of 2XKO

This beta makes one thing clear: Riot Games isn’t just building a fighting game—they’re building a competitive ecosystem. With esports-ready features, a ranking system on the horizon, and a growing roster of fan-favorite champions, 2XKO is shaping up to be a true contender in the fighting game community.

The full launch is expected later in 2025, and with hype at an all-time high, 2XKO might just redefine what a tag-team fighter can be.
