Kesha is back with a fresh, deeply personal single, Delusional, marking a pivotal moment in her ongoing evolution as an independent artist.
After a year of building anticipation, which included the release of her party anthem Joyride and her remix of Charli XCX’s Spring Breakers, the pop sensation continues to reinvent herself with Delusional—a track that blends vulnerability with empowerment.
The song, which follows the introspective tone of her previous albums Rainbow (2017) and Gag Order (2023), presents Kesha in a new light. On the heartfelt ballad, she sings, “Baby, you're delusional / Thinking you could ever find / Something that's as beautiful / Someone with a love like mine,” adding emotional depth to her narrative. Delusional addresses the painful end of a toxic relationship, with Kesha expressing her frustration: “I'm sick of the fightin', sick of the climbin' / You made me hate this town / Baby, you're delusional / Thinking you could find someone better now.”
This single is part of Kesha’s broader rebranding, which includes the launch of her own record label, Kesha Records, in September. The new label marks the beginning of a more independent phase for the artist, allowing her to take full creative control over her music and image.
Speaking about her creative process, Kesha explained how she channels her emotions into her work. “When I feel rage, I don’t break things—I bring it to the studio,” she shared with Forbes. “I surround myself with safe people who help me turn those feelings into songs. It’s my way of processing life, and I hope that sharing my music helps others heal too.”
Kesha’s journey as an artist continues to unfold, and with the House of Kesha tour kicking off in Australia in January 2025, followed by shows in the U.K. later in the year, fans can look forward to more powerful and personal music from this fearless, reinvented pop icon.
