Saiyaara’s Box Office Sensation to Stream on Netflix from September 12, 2025

The romantic musical Saiyaara, after taking the box office by storm, is now set to make its way to Netflix. Directed by Mohit Suri and featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film will premiere on the streaming platform on September 12, 2025.

The hint first came from Yash Raj Films’ casting director Shanoo Sharma, who reshared a social media post that practically confirmed the date. Although the production house hasn’t issued an official statement yet, the buzz is already sky-high, with fans eager to relive the magic of the hit film from their homes.

Plot & Reception

Saiyaara follows the journey of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a troubled musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), a shy poet, as they find love and solace in each other while navigating personal and professional struggles. Their romance faces intense emotional challenges, culminating in a heartbreaking twist that forces them to confront their deepest fears and insecurities.

Critics have lauded the film for its heartfelt storytelling, strong performances from the fresh-faced leads, and a soul-stirring soundtrack. Although it drew some comparisons to the Korean movie A Moment to Remember, writer Sankalp Sadanah has firmly maintained that the story is entirely original, rooted in deep emotional truth.

Box Office Glory & Netflix Deal

The film has been nothing short of a phenomenon at the box office, raking in over ₹517 crore worldwide. This incredible feat has secured Saiyaara a spot among the highest-grossing Hindi films ever, even surpassing some big-budget, superstar-led projects. Impressively, it has continued to draw crowds despite competition from newer releases like Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2.

Partnering with Netflix for its digital debut marks a strategic next step. Given its massive theatrical success, the makers extended its cinema run, making its arrival on streaming even more anticipated. Rumors suggest that the Netflix version may include a special “director’s cut”, offering audiences an uncut experience and capitalizing on the streaming giant’s wide reach.

The Uncensored Version: Fans’ Biggest Hope

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of Saiyaara’s streaming release is the possibility of restored scenes. Before hitting theaters, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked the makers to trim a 10-second intimate scene and modify certain dialogues to secure a U/A 16+ rating. Now, there’s speculation that Netflix might showcase the uncut, original version envisioned by Mohit Suri.

If this director’s cut does release, fans will finally get to see the film as it was meant to be — raw, unfiltered, and emotionally complete — potentially giving Saiyaara another wave of success, this time on the digital stage.
