Canon reveal its new full-frame mirrorless Cameras with Support 4k and 8k video recording the “EOS R5 And R6”.
The Canon EOS R5 is priced at Rs 3,39,995, whereas the EOS R6 will set you back by Rs 2,15,995. Both the cameras will be available for purchase starting August 2020 at Canon Image Squares and other authorised retailers.
Canon’s flagship mirrorless camera the EOS R5 features a new ‘Dual Pixel CMOS AF II’ to provide full focus made up of 1,053 automatically selected AF Zones. With improved AF tracking algorithms, camera focuses on the head and eye detection even for dogs, cats, and birds.
The R5 is built around a 45-megapixel sensor with a native ISO range of 100-51,200. The headline feature is that it can record uncropped 8K RAW video at 29.97 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit color, as well as uncropped 4K DCI at 59.94 fps, representing a major upgrade on the limited video capabilities of previous EOS R models. Canon says the R5 can shoot continuously at 8K for around 20 minutes at room temperature.
The R5 offers in-camera recording of non-cropped 8K RAW video at 29.97 fps in 10-bit 4:2:2 Log or HDR using H.265 compression. If you reduce the quality to 4K, 119.88 fps recording is available for high resolution slo-mo. Dual Pixel AF is available for all video modes, all resolutions, and all frame rates. External recording via HDMI is available, but limited to 4K resolution at 59.94 fps.
A second mirrorless camera EOS R6, a less capable and cheaper version of the R5 that comes with a 20.1-MP full-frame CMOS sensor, the same Digic X processing engine as the R5 but with ISO100-102,400 light sensitivity that can be expanded to 204,800. Continuous shooting speeds stay the same.
For the lenses, Canon has unveiled four RF series lenses which will also be available in the India market. These lenses include Canon RF 100-500mm f/4-7.1L IS USM, Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM, Canon RF 600mm f/11 and Canon RF800mm f/11.
