Saira Banu, who recently announced her separation from music composer AR Rahman, has clarified the reasons behind their decision.
In a heartfelt voice note, she shared that she had been “physically unwell for the last couple of months,” which led her to take a break from AR Rahman. Despite the separation, she emphasized her respect and admiration for him, calling Rahman “a gem of a person” and “the best man in the world.”
In the audio message, Saira explained, “I’ve been in Bombay for my treatment, and it was difficult for me to stay in Chennai due to AR’s busy schedule. I didn’t want to disturb anyone, including him or our children.” She also urged the media, particularly YouTubers and Tamil media, to refrain from spreading negativity about her husband.
Saira further expressed her unwavering trust in Rahman, saying, “I trust him with my life. He’s an amazing human being.” She requested that the media stop making false allegations and allow them privacy during this difficult time. She ended the note by asking for space and prayers as she continued her treatment, adding, “Please let him be the way he is. He doesn’t deserve any of this.”
Her message is a clear call for peace and understanding, as she assured fans that once her treatment is completed, she plans to return to Chennai.
