Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, known for his impressive collection of luxury homes in India, has now made a major international move.
He recently purchased a high-end residence at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, located in The Pearl — a stunning man-made island in Qatar. This marks his first step into international real estate and reflects his evolving taste in both lifestyle and investment.
The actor revealed this exciting development during a press event organized by one of the Middle East’s most respected family-owned business groups. Speaking to the media, Saif shared what influenced his decision to invest in a property so far from home.
“When I think about a second home or a holiday spot, there are a few things I always look for,” he explained. “The place should be easy to reach, safe, and above all, it should give you a sense of comfort and peace.”
A Dreamy Island Within an Island
What drew Saif to this property in particular was its unique setting. The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island is described as an "island within an island" — a concept that captured the actor's imagination. With its luxury lifestyle offerings, breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf, and top-tier amenities, the location offers an unmatched blend of serenity and sophistication.Calling it “a wonderful place to live,” Saif praised the combination of privacy, modern living, and access to rich culture and cuisine. He said the place struck the perfect balance between a private retreat and a vibrant hub for social life.
“I first experienced the property while working on a project in the region,” Saif said. “I ended up staying there, and the whole experience was just incredible. From the calm atmosphere to the personalized service and the food – everything felt so thoughtfully designed.”
He went on to describe how the property gave him a genuine sense of being “at home,” which ultimately made his decision to buy much easier. The menu at the resort, according to him, played a role too — with dishes that catered to both international and Indian palates, making the place feel warm and welcoming.
A Fresh Start After a Traumatic Incident
This new chapter in Saif Ali Khan’s life comes not long after a deeply unsettling event that took place at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. On January 16, Saif was attacked inside his 12th-floor apartment by an intruder. The incident shocked fans and the film industry alike.According to reports, the assailant entered his residence and attacked him with a knife, injuring him seriously. Saif, who is 54, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to remove a knife fragment dangerously close to his spine. Thankfully, he recovered well and was discharged five days later.
The attacker, identified as Shehzad, was arrested two days after the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but the event clearly left a lasting impact on the actor and his family.
Though Saif has not publicly connected the attack with his decision to invest abroad, it's understandable that such a traumatic event would influence anyone’s thoughts about safety and personal space. Having a peaceful, secure escape like The Pearl in Qatar may provide both emotional relief and a fresh sense of security.
