Pushpa 2: The Rule Sets the Stage for Record-Breaking Box Office Numbers with Impressive Advance Bookings

Pushpa 2: The Rule is gearing up to dominate the Indian box office, with advance bookings already making waves across the country. Directed by Sukumar, this highly anticipated sequel to Pushpa: The Rise is showing signs of rewriting box office records even before its official release. According to trade website Sacnilk, the film has already amassed a staggering Rs 30.92 crore from advance ticket sales for its opening day, and with three more days until its release, these numbers are expected to soar even higher as promotions ramp up.

As of now, nearly 7 lakh tickets have been sold across multiple formats including 2D, 3D, IMAX, and 4DX, and the numbers continue to climb. While the Telugu version of the film is leading the charge, with Rs 10.57 crore in advance sales, the Hindi version has shown an impressive performance as well, raking in Rs 10.14 crore. This marks a significant development in Indian cinema, with the Hindi version not lagging far behind the Telugu version in terms of bookings. In fact, the Hindi version has sold 3,40,892 tickets, compared to the Telugu version’s 2,73,519 tickets, which is an unprecedented feat for a regional film in a Hindi-speaking market.

While the Telugu 2D version has outperformed all others, the Hindi 3D and IMAX formats have also seen significant demand, a testament to the growing appeal of Pushpa 2 beyond its native audience. For context, the opening weekend collection of the Hindi version of Pushpa 1 stood at Rs 13 crore, and Pushpa 2 is expected to comfortably surpass that figure on its first day itself.

The Malayalam version is also doing well, but the Tamil and Kannada versions are seeing a slower start. This is largely due to the challenging weather conditions in Tamil Nadu, with heavy rains and a cyclone affecting the state. However, as conditions improve, the Tamil version’s numbers are expected to pick up pace.

Looking ahead, the release of Pushpa 2 could see even more milestones. While Kalki 2989 AD currently holds the record for the highest advance bookings this year with Rs 61 crore, it remains to be seen if Pushpa 2 can surpass that and even cross the Rs 100 crore mark in advance sales on Day 1. The introduction of paid premieres on December 4, alongside a price hike approved by the Telangana government, could contribute to a massive opening for the film.
