The Golden Rule Focus on Your Headquarters
In Last Z: Survival Shooter, your Headquarters (HQ) is the most important part of your base. Many new players make the mistake of upgrading every building equally—but this wastes a lot of resources.
Your HQ level controls almost everything:
- It sets the maximum level for your other buildings
- It affects your hero levels
- It increases your troop capacity
If you “rush” your HQ (upgrade it as fast as possible), you unlock better resource spots on the world map and more rewarding missions. Only upgrade other buildings like the Laboratory or Alliance Center when they are required to upgrade your HQ.
Smart Growth Strategy: How to Build Faster and Stronger
1. Learn World Map Gathering Properly
Buildings like the Farmhouse and Lumberyard give you resources slowly. To get millions of resources for big upgrades, you must go outside your base.
- Always Keep Gathering: Never leave your March Queues idle. If you’re not fighting zombies or joining rallies, send your troops to collect resources.
- Overnight Strategy: Before sleeping, send your biggest troop marches to the highest-level resource tiles. You’ll wake up with a huge amount of Wood, Food, and Gas.
- Upgrade Gathering Research: Use the Laboratory to research Economy skills. Faster gathering speed and higher troop load mean more resources every day
2. Join an Active Alliance (Very Important for Free Players)
Playing solo in Last Z is very difficult, especially for free-to-play (F2P) players. Joining a strong and active Alliance gives huge benefits.
- Alliance Gifts: When members defeat strong enemies like Boomers or spend money, everyone gets reward boxes. Active alliances can give you hundreds of free resources.
- Help Timers: Your alliance members can help reduce your building and research time. This saves your Diamonds.
- Alliance Mines: These are safe and large resource areas. Gathering here is faster and much safer than random map tiles.
3. Play Events at the Right Time for Extra Rewards
The game runs regular events like Alliance Duel and Total Preparedness. Timing is everything.
- If you upgrade randomly, you only get the upgrade
- If you upgrade during an event, you get extra rewards like speed-ups, Diamonds, and resources
The 18-Point Rule:
Try to reach the 18-point reward in daily events. These often give rare items like:
- Orange hero fragments
- Advanced tactical plug-ins
These items are very hard to get for free.
Save Your Items:
Don’t use resource packs or speed-ups immediately. Save them for event days when you can earn bonus rewards. This strategy helps you compete with players who spend money.
4. Use Trade Trucks and Bounty Missions Wisely
The Trade Truck system is one of the best ways to get rare items.
- Upgrade Your Trucks: Don’t accept low-quality (Gray or Green) trucks. Use free refresh chances to get Purple or Orange trucks. The rewards are much better.
- Focus on Bounty Missions: Always choose Orange-level missions. These give valuable materials and Zents needed for late-game progress.
5. Protect Your Resources
There’s no use collecting millions of resources if another player attacks and steals everything.
- Upgrade Your Warehouse: This protects a certain amount of your resources from being looted.
- Keep Resources in Inventory: Do NOT open resource chests until you need them. Resources in your inventory are safe and cannot be stolen.
- Use Shields: If you’re going offline during war or Kill Events, activate an 8-hour or 24-hour shield to protect your base.
Winning in Last Z: Survival Shooter as a free player is not about grinding harder—it’s about playing smarter.
Focus on upgrading your HQ, stay active in a strong alliance, and always time your upgrades with events. By following these strategies, you can build a powerful base without spending money.
Remember: The wasteland rewards players who plan ahead. So send your troops out, gather resources, and keep growing your base the smart way!
