Columbia Pictures has just unveiled the official trailer for Karate kid Legends, stirring up excitement ahead of the film’s theatrical release on May 30, 2025.

This highly anticipated movie brings together a new generation of martial artists alongside iconic figures from the beloved Karate Kid franchise.

The film stars rising talent Ben Wang, legendary martial artist Jackie Chan, and the original Karate Kid himself, Ralph Macchio.

Plot Overview:
In Karate Kid: Legends, after a devastating family tragedy, young kung fu prodigy Li Fong (played by Ben Wang) is forced to leave his home in Beijing and relocate to New York City with his mother. As Li struggles to adjust to his new life, he faces difficulties fitting in with his peers. Though he is reluctant to engage in violence, trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes. When a friend finds himself in danger, Li enters a karate competition to help, but soon realizes that his skills alone won’t be enough. Enter Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), Li’s kung fu teacher, who enlists the help of Karate Kid’s Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Together, they combine their unique fighting styles to prepare Li for the ultimate martial arts showdown.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle with a script by Rob Lieber, the film is produced by Karen Rosenfelt and executive produced by Jenny Hinkey and Ralph Macchio.

Joining Wang, Chan, and Macchio in the cast are Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen, rounding out a diverse ensemble that promises to deliver action and heart.
