Ellen DeGeneres is remembering her late friend, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, on the second anniversary of his passing.
The former talk show host, now living in England, posted a heartfelt message on social media alongside a photo of a tranquil field lined with trees. She captioned the post, “Wherever I am, I feel you with me. I love you tWitch.”

tWitch first appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014 as a guest DJ, quickly becoming a beloved figure on the program. He was later promoted to co-executive producer in 2020, a role he held until the show’s conclusion in May 2022. In September, Ellen also remembered tWitch on what would have been his 42nd birthday, sharing a heartfelt message that read, “Happy birthday tWitch. I miss you every day,” alongside a touching photo of the two embracing on the show’s set.
On the first anniversary of his passing, Ellen took to Instagram to share her memories of tWitch, recalling their daily interactions. “I thought I would share a few memories,” she began. “First, there are so many memories of tWitch.” She described how they would often sing and dance together after each show, making each other laugh. “We would walk off arm in arm to my dressing room,” she continued. “I’d say, ‘I love you,’ and he’d reply, ‘Love you much.’ Then he’d head to his dressing room. That’s how we ended every day—arm in arm. I miss that.”
Ellen reflected on the impact tWitch’s memory continues to have after his death by suicide at the age of 40 in December 2022. “His memory lives on,” she said. “I love him so much. I miss him so much.”
She went on to express the heartache of realizing that tWitch had been struggling internally. “It’s a reminder every day that you never know what someone’s going through,” Ellen shared. “He was such a happy person, and I was really close to him, but he never opened up about his struggles.” She added, “It’s sad that he didn’t feel like he could ask for help, because we would’ve done anything to support him. I miss him every single day, but I have amazing memories of him.”
