The Popular K-pop group’s new single had 82.4 million views in the first 24-hours of release on YouTube. Um… Awesome.
BLACKPINK has set a record of having the fastest music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube. Previously, BTS held the record for the fastest Korean group music video to hit 100 million views. Its music video, “Boy With Luv feat. Halsey”, took around 37 hours to achieve the feat in April 2019.
The South Korean girl group received an overwhelming response to its long-awaited new single, “How You Like That,” released on Friday. The eminently catchy trap-pop anthem got off to a roaring start on the digital front, debuting at No. 5 on the global Spotify chart with 4.073 million streams and No. 10 in the U.S. with over 762,000 streams .It grabbed the no. 2 spot in just the second day of its release.
It currently has over 140 million views on YouTube.
The video sees Lisa, Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo in a variety of dramatically-lit settings, from a lush rainforest and an ice palace to a room filled with scorched umbrellas, and a grand domed hall, where the quartet are surrounded by dancers and statues of horses.
The hip-hop-infused track also blends elements of Arabic music during Lisa’s second verse rap, while the lyrics deliver a “positive and hopeful” message.
