Allu Arjun released on interim bail: A night behind bars

National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun, widely known for his role in Pushpa, walked out of jail on Saturday morning after the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail. He was arrested on Friday in connection with the tragic stampede that took place at Hyderabad’s Sandhya theatre, which resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to her 8-year-old son. During his brief stay, Allu Arjun, who was assigned prisoner number 7697, reportedly slept on the prison floor.

Why was Allu Arjun arrested? Inside the Sandhya theatre stampede case

    Chaos broke out during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4, when thousands of fans thronged the Sandhya theatre to catch a glimpse of the superstar. The stampede-like situation led to the tragic death of a woman and injuries to her son. Following this, the Hyderabad police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management. The trial court had initially sent him to 14 days of judicial custody, but the High Court on Friday granted him interim bail.

    High drama over bail delay and alleged illegal detention

      Despite getting bail late Friday night, Allu Arjun spent the entire night in jail as the bail order could not be uploaded in time due to procedural delays. His lawyer Ashok Reddy criticised the situation, calling it illegal detention and announced plans to take legal action. The actor was finally released from the rear gate of Chanchalguda Central Jail on Saturday morning, following which security was beefed up outside his residence.

        Granting interim bail, the Telangana High Court highlighted Allu Arjun’s fundamental rights as a citizen and said that his presence at the film’s premiere prima facie does not implicate him in the tragic incident. The actor is now seeking quashing of the FIR filed against him, as legal proceedings are ongoing.

        This dramatic turn of events has left fans and legal experts speculating about the future of the case and its impact on Allu Arjun’s career.
