AC/DC, the legendary rock band, is set to electrify Detroit with a performance at Ford Field on April 30, 2025, marking their return to the Motor City for the first time in nearly a decade.
The concert is part of their "Power Up" tour, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the band's iconic debut album.
Tickets for the show, which will be AC/DC's second performance at the Detroit Lions' stadium, will go on sale at noon on Friday via Ticketmaster. This event is part of the band's "Power Up" tour, named after their 2020 album, which is their 17th studio release. The tour kicks off on April 10 in Minneapolis and concludes on May 28 in Cleveland, with a full list of dates available below.
This marks AC/DC's first North American tour since 2016, when Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose stepped in as lead vocalist after Brian Johnson was advised by doctors to stop touring due to hearing issues. Since then, the band has faced significant changes, including the passing of founding guitarist Malcolm Young in 2017. His nephew, Stevie Young, now plays rhythm guitar. AC/DC returned to the stage in 2023 for a one-off performance at California's Power Trip festival, followed by a European tour in 2024.
The band, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of High Voltage, their debut album, in 2025. With massive hits like "Highway to Hell," "Back in Black," "Thunderstruck," and "You Shook Me All Night Long," AC/DC continues to dominate music streaming platforms, with each of these classics surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The concert at Ford Field is part of an exciting year for the venue, which has also announced upcoming performances by Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks on March 29, as well as Post Malone and Jelly Roll on May 18.
AC/DC’s last Detroit-area performance was at the Palace of Auburn Hills in 2016, following their earlier 2015 show at Ford Field.
