This is not the first time that any political leader has made such claims, in the past several bizarre claims have been made. Here are some other politicians:
1. Union Minister Ramadas Athewale – In February, Athawale, together with the Chinese consul general and a group of Tang Guokai Buddhist monks, requested Corona to go back from India, with his slogan ‘Go Corona Go’.
2. Assam MLA Suman Haripariya – In early March, BJP MLA from Assam, Suman Haripriya claimed that cow urine and cow dung helps to cure deadly diseases like cancer and even coronavirus.
“We all know that cow dung is very helpful. Likewise, when cow urine is sprayed, it purifies an area.
I believe something similar could be done with ”gaumutra” and ”gobar” to cure coronavirus (disease),” she said during a discussion on smuggling of cattle to Bangladesh during Special Mention on the first day of the budget session of the assembly.
3. Union Minister Ashwini Choubey – Later, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini advocated “absorbing sunlight” as a possible precaution against the virus.
“From 11 am to 2 pm the sun is shining brightly. We should spend at least 10-15 minutes to absorb sunlight so that we get vitamin D which improves the immunity of our body and also kills such viruses. All should be aware of this fact,” he said when asked about the spread of coronavirus.
4. Congress Councillor Ravichandra Gatti – Ravichandra Gatti from Karnataka, had claimed that drinking rum and eating half-fried omelets can help in fighting coronavirus.
