A Russian actress, Kamilla Belyatskaya, tragically died after being swept away by a massive wave while practicing yoga at a beach in Thailand.

The 24-year-old was sitting on a rock at the Laad Koh viewpoint on Koh Samui Island when the wave, reportedly nine feet high, dragged her into the water. Her final moments were captured on video, showing her meditating on the rocks before the tragedy unfolded.

Despite a rescue effort, Belyatskaya could not be saved. Her body was later found several kilometers from where she had been sitting. The pink yoga mat she had been using was also discovered at the scene. It is believed that the delay in rescue teams’ arrival, caused by bad weather, may have contributed to her death. Following the incident, the Samui City Municipality closed access to the rocky area, which had been used as a viewpoint but was not a designated swimming area.

Belyatskaya, who was reportedly from Novosibirsk in Siberia, had visited Thailand with her boyfriend. She had previously expressed her love for the location on social media, even referring to the beach as “the best thing I’ve ever seen” in a post.
