“Kapoor Family Invites PM Modi to Celebrate Raj Kapoor’s 100th Birth Anniversary with Special Film Festival”
The Kapoor family, including members such as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and others, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to invite him to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor. This meeting, which took place on December 10, was to extend an official invitation for the upcoming event that will commemorate Raj Kapoor’s century-long legacy.
The family shared official photos from the meeting on social media, showing a series of moments with the Prime Minister. In the first group photo, the Kapoor ladies were seen posing with PM Modi, while the men stood in the back. Other family members present included Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Karisma Kapoor, Aadar Jain, and several others. Nikhil Nanda, son of Raj Kapoor’s daughter Ritu Nanda, was also part of the gathering.
Kareena Kapoor, sharing a photo from the meet, expressed gratitude toward PM Modi, calling it an honor to have been invited by him. She described the meeting as a special afternoon and thanked the Prime Minister for his warmth, attention, and support in celebrating Raj Kapoor’s extraordinary life and contribution to Indian cinema.
In addition to the meeting, the Kapoor family is organizing a special event to mark Raj Kapoor’s centenary—a three-day “Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival” from December 13-15, 2024, which will screen 10 of his iconic films across 40 cities and 135 cinemas. This event aims to honor Raj Kapoor’s monumental impact on Indian cinema and his legacy that continues to inspire generations.
