If you’ve been tracking the One UI 8.5 beta journey, you already know Samsung isn’t slowing down. As of February 12, 2026, the fourth beta build—firmware ZZAL—is officially live.
While the stable version is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 later this month, Galaxy S25 users are getting early access to some powerful new features right now.
What’s New in One UI 8.5 Beta 4?
This isn’t just another routine stability patch. The 1.5GB update brings meaningful changes.
Direct Voicemail
You can now automatically send incoming calls to voicemail and read a live text transcript while the caller is still speaking. It’s fast, discreet, and incredibly useful when you can’t answer a call.
Partial Screen Recording
No more recording your entire display (including private notifications). You can now select a specific area or app window to record—perfect for tutorials, app demos, or sharing clips without oversharing.
Bug Fixes That Actually Matter
Samsung addressed several annoying issues, including:
- The lock screen clock randomly shifting downward
- Bluetooth headset switching glitches
It’s clear Samsung is polishing things up before the stable release.

Before You Install: A Quick Reality Check
Beta software is exciting—but it’s still beta.
Back Up Your Data
Use Smart Switch on your PC to back up photos, messages, and important files. If something goes wrong and you need a factory reset, you’ll thank yourself.
Banking & UPI Apps
Some banking and UPI apps in India and the US can behave unpredictably on beta software. If your phone handles daily payments or work apps, you may want to wait for the stable version on February 25.
Battery Optimization
Early Reddit reports suggest Beta 4 feels smoother, but battery life may fluctuate for the first 48 hours while the system optimizes.
