Maggie Rogers Sings ‘Night Changes’ in Touching Tribute to Liam Payne

Maggie Rogers delivered a heartfelt performance of One Direction’s “Night Changes” in tribute to the late Liam Payne.

The 30-year-old artist took the stage at Boston’s TD Garden on Thursday night (October 17, 2024), just a day after the 31-year-old singer’s tragic fall from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

With emotion in her voice, Maggie shared with the audience, “This week, especially, I’ve been reflecting on how precious life is and how quickly things can shift.

“We’re about the same age.

“I wanted to honor everyone who has been touched by [One Direction’s] music.”

Sitting at her piano, she sang softly, “We’re only getting older, baby/And I’ve been thinking about it lately/Does it ever drive you crazy/Just how fast the night changes?”
