Kannappa Teaser: Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal Reunite for an Epic Mythological Drama

In a long-awaited reunion, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal will share the screen once again after 12 years in the upcoming action-packed mythological film Kannappa.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu, the film’s teaser dropped on Saturday, offering fans a thrilling glimpse into the world of faith, sacrifice, and devotion.

The teaser, just over a minute long, is filled with action as it introduces Vishnu Manchu in the role of Thinnadu, a fearless warrior battling on the battlefield. As the chaos of war unfolds and his soldiers continue to fall, Thinnadu begins to question his faith in God. His journey takes a profound turn when he becomes a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, a role portrayed by Akshay Kumar. This marks a transformation from a fierce fighter to a man of deep faith, setting the stage for a spiritual and emotional journey.

Kajal Aggarwal plays the divine role of Parvati, Lord Shiva’s consort. The teaser also gives a brief but impressive glimpse of Mohanlal as Kirata, a character steeped in mythological significance, and concludes with a grand entry from Prabhas as Rudra, further elevating the anticipation around the film.

Touted as “a saga of faith and sacrifice,” Kannappa promises to explore themes of devotion, battle, and the intertwining of mythology with personal sacrifice. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, and Devaraj, all playing key supporting roles.

Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal last shared the screen in the 2013 crime thriller Section 26. The new film, produced under the banner of Twenty Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, is slated to hit theaters worldwide on April 25, 2025.
