Gran Turismo 7 is getting ready for one of its biggest free updates since launch. Polyphony Digital has officially announced Spec IV, a major two-part update that will expand the racing game with new circuits, new cars, new modes and several quality-of-life features.

The update will be released in two stages. The first part is scheduled for October 2026, while the second part will arrive in December 2026.

Together, both updates will add two circuits, 12 new cars, Family Mode, Online Drift Trials, Shuffle Races, new driving experiences and several garage and progression improvements.

The update is also part of the build-up toward the 30th anniversary of the original Gran Turismo, which takes place in 2027. Polyphony Digital says more information will be revealed during the Gran Turismo World Series Round 3 event in Singapore on October 3.

Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Release Schedule

Unlike a normal single update, Spec IV will arrive in two separate parts.

The first update is planned for October 2026. It will introduce Sportsland SUGO, six new cars and several new features focused on collecting, viewing and experiencing vehicles.

The second update will arrive in December 2026. It will add the returning Autumn Ring circuit, another six cars, Family Mode, Shuffle Races and Online Drift Trials.

This means players will receive six new cars in October and another six in December, bringing the total to 12 new vehicles.

Sportsland SUGO Comes to Gran Turismo 7

One of the biggest additions in the October update is Sportsland SUGO.

Located in Japan, the circuit is known for its technical layout and significant elevation changes. Polyphony Digital has highlighted its flowing design and the famous Dunlop bridge as some of its recognizable features.
