Vivo X50 Series with Snapdragon 765G to launch in India today

Vivo has announced that it will offer major updates to the Android operating system for some of its smartphones for three years, following in the footsteps of HMD Global and Samsung. Although the Chinese company has not disclosed the names of the models, it has stated that it will select models of its flagship El X-series that have operating system updates for three years. The new directive will cover the Australian, European and Indian markets,

the company said in a press release. Instead of promising updates for all current and future models, Vivo said. The three-year major Android operating systems and security updates will appear in the next-generation flagship X-Series series sometime after July 2021, much like HMD Global promised last month to offer three years of operating system updates for its Nokia X phones.

Last year Samsung also announced that it would release three “generations” of Android operating system updates for its devices. However, the South Korean company has a list of around 40 devices that are eligible as part of its three-year upgrade commitment. Vivo has promised that its premium X-Series models, which will not be able to update Android operating systems for three years, will continue to receive regular Android security updates.

“With world-class hardware, the flagship X-Series phones are built to last. We want to make sure our customers receive software support that meets their expectations,” said Yujian Shi, senior vice president and chief executive officer. Vivo technology, in the statement.

“We’re always innovating with the user in mind. With this commitment, we promise our customers that they will enjoy a premium smartphone experience for a longer period of time and continue to benefit from the latest software functions. Vivo hasn’t released any details on its new X-series phones yet. However, rumor has it that the Vivo X70 Pro + could be one of the upcoming models. It appeared online with a 4,500 mAh battery and 66 W fast charge support. from Zeiss Optik and contain a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
