Just months after the release of Emily in Paris Season 4, fans are already facing uncertainty about the future of one major character: Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo. The actor has hinted that he might not return for Season 5, citing frustration with his character’s evolution.
Bravo shared with IndieWire that Gabriel’s transformation over the seasons has left him feeling disconnected from the role.
“In Season 1, there was a lot of me in him. But over time, he became less fun to portray, turning into someone who’s lost and constantly victimizing himself,” Bravo explained. “It’s been hard to connect with a character I once loved.”
Despite voicing his concerns on set, Bravo feels limited by the direction the character is taking, especially since his contract ends with Season 4. “Three seasons of playing a melancholic, lost character isn’t fun anymore,” he said. “I hope Gabriel finds his playful self again, but if not, I’m questioning my return for Season 5.”
Although he’s frustrated, Bravo emphasized his gratitude for the role that launched his career. “I love the show, but when you care, you want the best version of it,” he added. “We’ll see where it goes.”
With Bravo uncertain about his future on the show, fans will have to wait and see if Gabriel will return for Season 5. In the meantime, all four seasons are streaming on Netflix
