Kamal Haasan celebrated his birthday on November 7 with the release of a new glimpse from his upcoming film Thug Life.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2025, in multiple languages. The 44-second teaser was unveiled by the film’s producers, Raaj Kamal Films International, in Tamil, English, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The powerful teaser offered a glimpse of the film’s tone but kept the plot details under wraps.
In the video, Kamal Haasan is seen in the dual roles of a warrior and a contemporary man, while Silambarasan TR also features prominently.
The music for the film is composed by AR Rahman, and the action sequences are choreographed by Anbariv.

The title of the film was first revealed on Kamal’s birthday last year, along with a 3-minute teaser featuring the Thug Life Theme song, which Kamal famously wrote in just one hour. This film marks the first collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam since their iconic 1987 film Nayakan. Filming for Thug Life began in January 2024 and wrapped up in September. Originally, Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi were part of the cast, but they were later replaced by Silambarasan and Ashok Selvan.
