At today’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Sony revealed some exciting news for fans of The Last of Us series.
Neil Druckmann, the co-creator, writer, and executive producer of the show, officially confirmed that Season 2 will make its debut this April. The seven-episode season will air on HBO and be available for streaming on Max.
Picking up five years after the events of Season 1, The Last of Us Season 2 plunges Joel and Ellie into new conflicts as they face an even more perilous and unpredictable world. With their bond tested, they must navigate dangers that are more relentless than ever.
The familiar faces of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie will return, along with Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Additionally, the new season will introduce several fresh faces, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Fans can also look forward to a special guest appearance by Catherine O’Hara.
The Last of Us, based on the iconic video game series from Naughty Dog, is crafted by the brilliant minds of Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who both serve as writers and executive producers. The show is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, with additional executive producers including Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells, as well as co-executive producer and writer Halley Gross.
