Frostpunk is one of the “next big” titles of the year for me, and what I love most about it is the effect that it has on your players as the planet gets frozen. It’s a tense survival game that will force players to be both warm (dip into the citizens to make sure they don’t freeze to death) and cold (dig into the sand for ice cubes to cool down the citizens to ensure that they don’t die of hypothermia).
But, all of that isn’t the only reason to check out Frostpunk! It also has a great co-op, which is always a plus.
From what we’ve seen so far, this game definitely has a compelling case for being my #1 pick of 2017, but it’s certainly possible that there will be another publisher worth covering.
Also, if you haven’t checked out the Gamescom show, the release date for Frostpunk will be January 30, 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox One X. We’ll definitely keep an eye on
