The official trailer for The Electric State, an upcoming Netflix film starring Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), has just been released.
Set in an alternate 1990s world following a robot uprising, the film follows a young orphan named Michelle, who embarks on a journey across the American West in search of her missing younger brother.
In the film, Michelle, played by Millie Bobby Brown, navigates a dystopian society where cartoon-inspired robots once lived peacefully alongside humans but now find themselves exiled after a failed uprising. Her world is turned upside down when a mysterious robot named Cosmo arrives, seemingly under the control of Michelle’s younger brother, Christopher—who she thought had died.
Determined to reunite with her brother, Michelle teams up with Keats (Chris Pratt), a smuggler, and his sarcastic robot sidekick, Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie). Together, they journey into the Exclusion Zone, a desert region where robots have created their own society. Along the way, they encounter a vibrant and strange group of animatronic allies and uncover sinister truths about Christopher’s disappearance.
The Electric State is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and features an all-star cast, including Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Norman. The voice cast for the robots includes Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Alan Tudyk. Based on the graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag, the screenplay is penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
The film promises a captivating adventure with a mix of sci-fi, mystery, and heart.
