. Angel Studios, after acquiring the worldwide rights from Blue Harbor Entertainment, is gearing up for the film’s theatrical debut on April 11, 2025, just in time for Holy Week. The release will coincide with the premieres of two thriller films: Drop, starring Meghann Fahy, and The Amateur, starring Rami Malek.

The film’s star-studded voice cast includes Oscar Isaac as Jesus, Kenneth Branagh as Charles Dickens, Forest Whitaker as Peter the Apostle, Uma Thurman as Catherine Dickens, and Roman Griffin Davis as Walter Dickens. The project is executive produced by Jamie Thomason and Andrew Mann, with cinematographer Woo-hyung Kim and Jang as producers.
The official synopsis reads: “The story follows Charles and Walter Dickens, who embark on a multi-dimensional adventure as the master storyteller engages his youngest son’s vivid imagination with the fascinating life of Jesus, his well-known trials and tribulations, and his notable colleagues and foes.” The film’s rich animation allows the Dickens duo (along with their family cat, Willa) to become deeply immersed in the ancient tale, interacting with Jesus, his disciples, and detractors. The dynamic voice performances bring these characters to life in an entirely new way, making the biblical journey both relatable and captivating for families, especially children of all ages.
