    The hype for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI or GTA 6) has been at a boiling point. Fans have been eagerly waiting for any sort of news about the much-awaited new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, however, there has been almost nothing out of Rockstar Games. A new report has revealed that GTA VI will likely be unplayable for millions when it launches.

    According to a report by GAMINGbible, many gamers won’t be able to play GTA VI at launch as the game is expected to skip last-generation consoles and go right to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

    While most gamers will likely be switched to the new-generation hardware by 2025, there will still be millions of players who won’t be able to play GTA VI at launch, according to the report.

    In February last year, Rockstar Games had announced that GTA VI was in active development. “Many of you have been asking about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series,” the company posted, “With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we’ve previously delivered. We’re pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the series is underway.”

    Earlier, it was rumoured that GTA VI’s map will be bigger, and might also change and evolve over time, like in Fortnite. Famous Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson had also predicted the 2024, or 2025 release for GTA VI in a YouTube video, which was later backed by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier. Moreover, Rockstar reportedly paused development on Red Dead Redemption and the GTA 4 remasters to dedicate more manpower to GTA 6.

    The last GTA 5 game was released back in 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It made its way to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S early in March last year.

    Sony has announced that it is rolling out a new PlayStation 5 system software update globally. This update includes a number of features from the latest PS5 beta, including new accessibility features like the ability to use a second DualSense controller for assistance, new audio options that allow 3D Audio powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech to be played on compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled HDMI devices, and much more.

    “Now, you can use two controllers to control your PS5 console as if you were using just one by designating a second controller to one account as an assist controller. In a blog post on September 13, 2023, the company said, “This feature introduces a new way for you to enjoy games collaboratively with others or help a friend or child navigate a particularly challenging section of a game.”

    Users now also have the option to turn on haptic feedback effects while navigating their PS5 with their DualSense controller, DualSense Edge controller, or PS VR2 Sense controller.

    With the latest update, 3D Audio powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech can now be enjoyed by those who own compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled HDMI devices such as soundbars, TVs or home theater systems.

    Additionally, consumers can now increase the amount of storage on their PS5 consoles by using an M.2 SSD with a maximum capacity of 8TB (up from the previous 4TB limit).

    Talking about the social feature enhancements, the company said that users can now invite a player into a closed party without automatically adding the player into the group or creating a new group. Additionally, players can now send open or closed party invitations to groups instead of only individual players.

    Other features include the ability to react to messages with emojis, see a preview of someone’s Share Screen before joining a party, search for games within your game library, mute or adjust the volume of the PS5’s beep sound when turning it on or off, and more.

    Action-adventure game Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5 or GTA V) has officially turned 10 years old, Rockstar Games announced on X (formerly known as Twitter). The company also thanked players for their support over the years.

    On September 17, 2023, Rockstar Games posted on X, “Today, on the official 10th Anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V, we would like to thank you, our players, for your incredible support over the years.”

  • Three VR games are being shut down by Meta without any notice. Learn more

    Meta has announced that it is shutting down three virtual reality (VR games)– Dead and Buried, Dead and Buried II, and Bogo– in the March of next year, without providing any explanation. For those who are unaware, Dead and Buried, Dead and Buried II are VR shooter games and Bogo is a VR pet simulator.

    According to a report by The Verge, citing sources, gamers are receiving an email which reads, ”We are reaching out to let you know that Dead and Buried will no longer be supported as of Friday, March 15, 2024.”

    “You can continue to hunt ghosts and other creatures in Dead and Buried on your Rift, Rift S, or Quest (via link) devices until 11:59 PM PT on that date,” the email mentioned.

    Owners of Wild West shootout sequel Dead and Buried II and virtual pet simulator Bogo are also getting similar shutdown messages, with the March 15, 2024 end date.

    None of the messages provide any explanation for this decision. It seems the company hasn’t chosen to change its strategy following the Echo Arena incident, where Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth had to provide an explanation afterwards.

    Moreover, Bogo isn’t even a multiplayer game dependent on online servers. So, Meta could have simply labelled it as incompatible with newer headsets, instead of removing it from users altogether.

    Meanwhile, Meta recently announced that it is expanding Horizon Worlds beyond virtual reality and releasing it on mobile and the web in an early access phase. The company mentioned that as it rolls out more worlds over the next few months, users will be able to hang out with friends, laugh it up at comedy shows, and enjoy free concerts and events from any web-connected device. Whether users want to know when their friends are online, invite a friend without a headset to meet up easily, or share the fun, this new flatscreen version of Worlds is a great way to stay connected and avoid missing out.

    Microsoft and FTC are going against each other and the court case has leaked some really important information regarding Microsoft’s future plans for Xbox. The FTC documents have revealed that there are three Xbox devices that are scheduled to be released in 2024. The three devices are the Xbox Series X mid-gen refresh, the Xbox Series S mid-gen refresh, and a universal Xbox controller. Along with that, the documents also contained one more piece of information about Xbox’s next-gen console for 2028.

    Xbox Series S mid-gen refresh codenamed Ellewood

    Microsoft released a black Xbox Series S with more storage at a higher price a while back. Further details regarding the Xbox Series S mid-generation console, codenamed Ellewood, which is expected to launch in August 2024 with up to 1 TB of storage, have now been discovered in the FTC documents. It is anticipated that this mid-generation Series S refresh will retail for $299 (roughly ₹25,000).

    Xbox Series X mid-gen refresh codenamed Brooklyn

    The Xbox Series X mid-gen refresh is expected to launch in October 2024. This new mid-gen refresh could see a change in design. The documents revealed that the Series X mid-gen refresh codenamed Brooklyn will launch without a disc drive and run only digital games. Next, it is also revealed that the console might pack up to 2 TB of storage and feature a USB Type-C port. The shape is also expected to be cylindrical, unlike the current Xbox X series which is cubical. It might launch in October 2024 with a price of $499 (approx ₹41,000).

    New Xbox Controller codenamed Sebille

    This new Xbox Controller is also expected next year in May. What’s special about it? It might feature Bluetooth 5.2 and an Xbox Wireless 2 wireless connection protocol. Further, it is a universal controller that can be used in gaming consoles, PC, and cloud gaming. The controller is also expected to launch with haptic feedback. The court case documents revealed the controller will feature “precision haptic feedback” and “VCA haptics double as speakers.” The price of the controller mentioned in the documents are $69.99.

    Xbox’s next-gen console for 2028

    Microsoft seems to be working on its next-gen console which will be released in 2028. Now this next-gen console could be powered by Zen 6 CPU and Navi 5 GPU. Furthermore, these consoles might also add Next-gen DirectX Ray-tracing.

    Xbox cloud gaming to extend streaming services beyond game is looking to change that scenario.

    The specific date for the equivalent hasn’t been announced yet, yet Xbox has guaranteed that Game Pass Ultimate individuals will actually choose to stream specific titles, even if similar titles are not a piece of Game Pass. Xbox has yet to make reference to the titles the support will be extended, nor has it expressed anything about the purpose, assuming there is any to make all games playable via streaming. . This support will be limited to Game Pass Ultimate supporters only, not to different levels of endorsers.

In a briefing for the media  CVP of Gaming Experiences & Platforms, Ashley McKissick said, “Gamers are not shy with their feedback, which is awesome. And so one of the things that they told us, it’s like, ‘Hey, we would love to be able to stream games that we own even if they’re not in the Game Pass catalogue.’

    “And so later this year if you are an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member, you will be able to stream from the cloud games you purchase and also games you already own as long as they’re cloud enabled in the catalogue.”

    Xbox’s streaming service has been gaining momentum for a long time now. The test service which started small with xCloud is today’s Xbox Cloud Gaming Service. Xbox Cloud Gaming Service is also currently working on a streaming stick, with the intention of bringing streaming services to the TV.

    Xbox is expanding its streaming service, keeping the future in mind.

    This week marks the start of Epic Game Store’s annual Mega Sale, and to kick things off, Gearbox’s 2019 hit Borderlands 3 is free to pick up until May 26. In addition to Borderlands 3 being free, tons of games (over 1500 titles), including Far Cry 6, Ghostwire Tokyo, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying Light and a lot more are on sale as well.

    Borderlands 3 while not the best Borderlands game, at least in our opinion, is still up there when it comes to RPG shooters. It’s also 2K Games’ fastest-selling game, selling over 5 million units in under a week. It has since sold over 15 million units. The Borderlands franchise is clearly something people want more of; even Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, which also happens to be on sale during the Epic Games Store Mega Sale, outperformed 2K’s expectations after it launched this March.

    In our Borderlands 3 review, we mentioned that the story and writing were its weakest elements, with mostly unmemorable characters. Okay, unmemorable probably isn’t fair, but we certainly can’t recall the names of any of the new characters from Borderlands 3. However, story aside, Borderlands 3 definitely takes the gameplay up a few notches with plenty of quality of life improvements and a LOT more guns. It’s probably one of the most exciting things about Borderlands; waiting to see what the next gun will bring – legs? ricocheting bullets?? a personality??? Keep in mind that there have been several DLCs for the game that have been released since it launched, but what you’re getting for free is just the standard version.

    Borderlands 3 aside, Epic is planning another mystery vault game giveaway for next week, which will also most likely be a big hitter. As for the Mega Sale, more than 1500 games are on sale, plus, you get a 25% off coupon automatically added to your cart upon checkout.
