Music legend A. R. Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu, made headlines when they announced their separation after 29 years of marriage.
In the hours that followed, Rahman’s bassist, Mohini Dey, also revealed she was parting ways with her husband, Mark Hartsuch, sparking speculation about a possible connection between her separation and Rahman’s. However, Saira Banu’s lawyer swiftly clarified that there was no link between the two events.
In response to the spread of unverified rumors, Rahman’s daughters, Khatija and Raheema Rahman, have also voiced their frustrations. Raheema took to her Instagram story with a cryptic message, saying, “Always remember… Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” She added, “Honestly, get a life.” Khatija shared the same post on her own Instagram story, joining her sister in denouncing the misinformation.
After few hours “A. R. Rahman’s son, Arrameen, shared on Instagram: ‘My father is a legend, not only for his extraordinary contributions but also for the values, respect, and love he has earned throughout his life. It’s truly upsetting to see false and unfounded rumors being spread. Let’s all remember the importance of truth and respect when talking about someone’s life and legacy. Please avoid engaging in or spreading misinformation. Let’s honor and protect his dignity, along with the profound impact he has made on all of us.'”
