Dayle Haddon, the Canadian actress and model, passed away on Friday at the age of 76,
Reportedly due to carbon monoxide poisoning at the home of her son-in-law, actor Marc Blucas, known for his role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Local authorities confirmed the cause of death, which is believed to have resulted from a heating unit malfunction that released high levels of carbon monoxide inside the Bucks County, Pennsylvania, residence. It has not been confirmed whether Blucas was present at the time of her death.
Haddon, born and raised in Montreal, was fluent in both English and French. She began her career as a ballet dancer before transitioning to modeling, working with prominent brands such as Revlon, Estee Lauder, Clairol, and Max Factor. She graced the covers of Vogue numerous times and was featured on the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Additionally, she earned a spot on Harper’s Bazaar’s list of the “Ten Most Beautiful Women” on two occasions.
In the early 1970s, Haddon made the shift to acting, with notable roles in films like The World’s Greatest Athlete, Cheaters, Madame Claude, North Dallas Forty, Desert Chase, Cyborg, and Bullets Over Broadway.
Later in life, she became the spokesperson for L’Oreal’s anti-aging products and authored the book Ageless Beauty: A Woman’s Guide to Lifelong Beauty and Well-Being. Haddon was also known for her philanthropic work, serving as an ambassador for UNICEF and founding WomenOne, a New York-based organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for women.
