Chuck Woolery, a game show icon known for hosting the original versions of Wheel of Fortune and Love Connection, passed away on November 23 at the age of 83.
His death was confirmed on X by longtime friend and Blunt Forth Truth podcast co-host Mark Young. In a heartfelt message, Young wrote, “It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him.”
According to a statement to TMZ, Woolery died at his home in Texas after struggling with breathing issues.
Woolery, who began his career as a singer, became the original host of Wheel of Fortune when it premiered in 1975. He hosted the show for six years before being succeeded by Pat Sajak. In 1983, Woolery also became the first host of Love Connection, a role he held for 11 years.
