Akon has expressed his excitement at the prospect of working on a 2.0 version of Chammak Challo,
the popular track from Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One. In a recent interview ahead of his performance at the Cherry Blossom Music Festival in Shillong, the singer shared, “Bollywood has always been very close to my heart. If the chance to work on Chammak Challo 2.0 comes up, I’d love to grab it.”
The 51-year-old artist, known for hits like Smack That and Lonely, also revealed he’s preparing to make his comeback in Bollywood. Akon admitted to closely following Indian music and shared that he misses working in the industry. He teased that he has some exciting Bollywood projects lined up for 2025 and plans to announce them soon.
Earlier this year, Akon made headlines when he performed at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding celebrations in Mumbai. His electrifying performance was one of the highlights of the event.
Akon’s connection with Ra.One remains strong, as the film recently marked its 13th anniversary on October 26, 2024. Director Anubhav Sinha took to Instagram to express his gratitude for working with Shah Rukh Khan on the film, noting how much he learned from the superstar during filming. Ra.One featured Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles—Shekhar Subramaniam, a video game developer, and G.One, the superhero from the game. The film also starred Kareena Kapoor as Shekhar’s wife Sonia, and Arjun Rampal as the villain Ra.One, bringing the video game characters to life in an epic battle.
