Veteran Comedy Entertainer Jagdeep Dies

Jagdeep Singh who became known from ‘Soorma Bhopali’ of ‘Sholay’ movie. He entertained the audience for a long time with his performance and the world laugh with his comedy. Now he left everyone crying or Bollywood added another loss in 2020’s list.

The actor was not keeping good health for a long time due to his age, he died in his Bandra house at 8.30 pm on Wednesday.

The actor whose real name is ‘Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jaffrey’  better known as his stage name ‘Jagdeep’ appeared in almost 400 films and also directed a few projects but his role as Soorama Bhopali in the 1975 film ‘Sholay’, which is still in people’s hearts. He additionally played a memorable role in ‘Purana Mandir’ and in ‘Andaz Apna’ as Salman Khan’s father. The actor was recently given a Lifetime Achievement Award at IIFA.

He started his career in 1951 with film ‘Afsana’, which filmmaker BR Chopra’s directorial debut. The actor played lead roles in some films including Bhabhi, Barkha, and Bindiya. Jagdeep established himself as a comic actor from the Brahmachari film. His sons, Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jafri, and grandson Meezan Jaaferi are actors.

As soon as the news came out Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ajay Devgan, and other Bollywood stars all paid a final tribute to the late actor via their social media account.
