Although it’s been 28 years, the long-awaited sequel to 28 Days Later, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, looks like it’s been worth the wait, based on the first trailer.
Set to the eerie sound of a Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling’s war poem “Boots,” the trailer presents a post-apocalyptic world where Aaron Taylor-Johnson roams the green fields of England, armed with a bow and arrow.
Nearly two decades after the events of 28 Days Later, the sequel shows Cillian Murphy’s character, Jim, transformed into a zombie, towering over Jodie Comer’s character after seemingly being infected with the “Rage Virus.” Interestingly, Murphy’s name isn’t listed on the promotional posters, suggesting that his role in the sequel may be limited, even though he is an executive producer. Notably, Murphy didn’t appear in 28 Weeks Later.
